7:15 am                             Arrive at St. Anthony’s School and attendance is taken

7:35 am                             Bus leaves school for Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal

9:00 am                             Ferry leaves for Swartz Bay (Victoria)

10:35 am                           Arrive in Swartz Bay (Victoria)

11:15 am                           Arrive downtown Victoria

11:30 am                           Free time to walk around Inner Harbour/Eat lunch, etc

12:40 pm                           Meet at the designated spot in front of the Legislature

1:00 pm                             Tour Legislature then walk to Royal BC Museum    

2:00 pm                             Self-guided tour of Royal BC Museum

3:20 pm                             Leave Royal BC Museum and head back to Swartz Bay

5:00 pm                             Get the 5:00 pm ferry back to Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal

We did our lottery draw for volunteers to Victoria. I'm sorry for those who did not get selected. I am taking as many as possible. We had the biggest turn out ever for our trip. For those who were not selected, if anyone drops out, we will choose from those ones.

Thank you to everyone who handed in their volunteer form for our Victoria trip. I've never had so many volunteers before. In one day, we ended up with 16 forms. At this point, we cannot accept any more. A few reminders: We can only accept one parent per family as our 12 adult limit is pretty maxed out. Tomorrow or Friday, we will do a lottery in class to determine the 12. If selected, I will send home another form to fill out. If for any reason, you are selected and cannot attend, please let me know ASAP. 

Congratulations to all the Grade 5's in Intermediate Choir. They did a great job at the Chancellor Music Festival today.

Dear Parents,

Our field trip to Victoria is finalized. It has not been easy dealing with BC Ferries. When I phoned them in December, they were unable to take reservations for May, so they stated that I should reserve via their email. When they finally gave us our reservations, they gave us 10:00 am and 5:00 pm rather than 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. They haven’t been too helpful in resolving this so far (Although I’m still hopeful that they will give us the 9:00 am reservation).

I think the best thing to do is just to go to the ferries for the 9:00 am sailing. It’s highly likely that we are able to get on even without a reservation as Thursday shouldn’t be too busy. We are planning to leave the school at 7:30 am and should arrive at the ferries around 8:00 am. Of course, there is always a chance we can’t get on the 9:00 am and have to wait until the 10:00 am. In that case, it would affect our lunch, but we should still be fine for the tour of the Legislature and Museum.

We can accept up to 12 parent volunteers. In the beginning, we are asking only for 1 parent per family. If we don’t get enough volunteers, we could bring another. I will be sending the volunteer sheet home Tuesday(tomorrow). It will be first come first serve. There will be a cost of about $52 for parent volunteers to cover the ferries and museum.
